Farsley included in their ranks four ex-Leeds Juniors. Matthew Smithard, Simon Watson, Damian Henderson and Steve Best. Leeds had the better of possession and Michael Bridges came close to giving Leeds the lead early in the game when his curling shot brought out an excellent save from Sutcliffe in the home goal, when he saved at full stretch and pushed the ball over the bar. Leeds continued to create chances at regular intervals, but the goals just did not come. The Leeds substitutes were Shaun Allaway, Simon Johnson, Caleb Folan, Henry McStay, Craig Farrell, Paul Keegan and Martin Woods
